RELOCATION OPPORTUNITY - Signing Bonus eligible role. $30,000 signing bonus and $3,500 relocation assistance.

Novant Health is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to grow and develop within a professional setting. Our CRNAs utilize skills obtained through additional training, education and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients who present with complex and unique anesthetic requirements. We have positions available in our large facilities and our surrounding smaller facilities. Some positions have the ability to float between facilities.


  • Demonstrates knowledge of pre-anesthetic assessment skills. Administers intravenous and inhalation anesthetic agents appropriate for the age and condition of the patient served.

  • Implements patient monitoring standards for general or regional anesthesia.

  • Maintains clinical and professional competency according to department policies, procedures and protocols as appropriate for the age of patient(s) served.

  • Performs anesthesia-related interdisciplinary responsibilities.

  • Complies with and supports organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Provides anesthesia care to patients who present with complex and complicated, pre-existing disease, advanced disease states and/or complex and unique anesthetic requirements.

  • These patients include, but are not limited to, trauma victims requiring resuscitative, diagnostic and surgical restoration, patients who often present with multi-system diseases and failure requiring numerous anesthetic considerations.

  • Pediatric patients who require reparative surgical procedures or non-surgical procedures.

  • Patients that require intensive monitoring so that the surgical procedure may be completed.

  • Patients who present with chronic and/or multi-system diseases for out-patient and/or Ambulatory Care procedures and treatments, patients whose procedures and treatments require potentially compromising operative positions, patients who present with extremes of nutritional state, and patients who present for multiple extremes under a continuous anesthetic.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. BSN required. Graduate from both an accredited school of nursing and school of nurse anesthesia. Listed on the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and recognized by the state of practice as an Advanced Practitioner. Must meet continuing education per NBCRNA requirements to maintain CRNA certification.

  • Experience: Previous experience is not necessary. Four to six week orientation period (working with preceptor) is required. Orientation period will depend on previous experience and clinical skills.

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. CRNA by NBCRNA required.

  • Additional skills required: Must have extensive knowledge of current anesthetic agents, techniques, drugs and equipment. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify the anesthetic care suitable to patient age. Must have considerable ability to make independent decisions, sometimes under stress, and to maintain a professional demeanor with patients, coworkers and physicians.
