Sutter Health Registered Nurse II, Labor & Delivery TRAINING PROGRAM POSITION in Castro Valley, California

Position Overview:

Coordinates professional nursing care within the Labor and Delivery unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines; maintains standards of professional practice.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Minimum Experience:

2 years current acute care experience required

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in nursery

Licensure/Certification:

Current California RN license; NRP (Neonatal resuscitation program) preferred

BCLS, ACLS

Courses/Training:

Annual Attendance at job related workshop/conference.

Attend a fetal monitoring workshop/certification class every 2 years.

Must take and successfully complete the Nat'l League of NSG Med Admin exam during probationary period.

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing/walking

Frequently lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients

Occasional reaching stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching

Working Conditions:

Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances

Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)

Handles emergency or crisis situations

May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases

May perform emergency care

Occasional pressure due to multiple call in inquiries

Occasionally subjected to irregular hours

Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
