Nursing Apprentice- PRN/Intermittent- Float Pool (Job ID: 4193)Job Summary:Under close supervision, assists professional nursing and care providers inproviding care to all patients with respect for their uniqueness. Collaborateswith the RN and healthcare team. Assists with basic patient care andactivities of daily living. Maintains unit specific documentation as required.Orders, maintains and utilizes supplies for the assigned unit. Demonstratesthe equivalent skills, competencies and professional development of theHealth Care Tech III (HCT III) as required by division.The nursing apprentice adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA)standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code ofEthics (2015) to provide care to all patients. Applies criticalthinking, evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines and competenceto collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in patientsafety and quality outcomes. Utilizes the Theory of Human Caring and Caritasin daily practice. "Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, Founder/ Director, Watson Caring Science Institute".Upon passing the NCLEX and license verification, the nurse will advance asGraduate Nurse Resident and can function independently as a Registered Nurseas outlined in the job description.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:* Ability to ensure confidentiality of patient information by creating andmaintaining a secure and trusting environment by not sharing informationlearned on the job, except when necessary in the performance of the jobresponsibilities or to improve a patient's care.* Ability to ensure all duties, responsibilities and competencies areconducted in a manner that is effective and appropriate to patients/clientsto who care/service is being provided.* Demonstrates knowledge and applicability of the principles of growth anddevelopment over the life span, as well as demonstrating the ability toassess data reflecting the patient's status and interpreting appropriatecultural information of the patient(s) to whom care/ services is beingdelivered/provided.* Ability to complete and maintain clinical competency standards.Education:* Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
