Apply Today!As the Research Treatment Nurse for the Drug Development Unit your primaryresponsibility is to treat and manage patients enrolled on clinical trial.You will closely follow study patient(s) throughout treatment courseensuring protocol complianceYou will administer chemotherapy as ordered by physiciansYou will read and interpret EKGsMust communicate all protocol related issues/problems to the investigatorYou will assess patient for side effects of treatment and symptoms related todisease or disease progressionYou will assess lab data and communicates abnormal findings to theinvestigator and oncologistYou will assess and document patient compliance with medications and returnvisitsYou will communicate with the pharmacy staff to provide timely and accuratestudy drug distributionYou will maintain a current medication list and records in protocol specificrequirementsYou will provide data team with completed follow-up forms, medicalrecords, lab data and other source documents in a timely mannerYou will educate and orient ancillary staff in study specific proceduresYou will document and report adverse eventsYou will performs telephone triageAssesses the patients EMR to ensure that all required data has been enteredprior to patients scheduled appointmentYou will perform patient counseling and referral to appropriate supportservicesYou will monitor schedules daily for appropriate treatment distribution andadditional patient visitsYou should have for this position:An Associate Degree; preferably a Bachelor's DegreeCurrent licensure in the state of Colorado as a Registered NurseKnowledge of medical and research terminologyKnowledge of FDA Code of Federal Regulations and GCPKnowledge of the clinical research processesKnowledge of Phase I protocolOne year of acute care nursing experience requiredAt least on year of oncology experience preferredAt least one year of experience in a research setting preferredCurrent BLS certificationCurrent ACLS certification (can complete within nine months of start date)ONS Chemotherapy Provider card (can complete within nine months of start date)Research Certification (ACRP or CCRP) Preferredis the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare.
