Cardiology/Short Stay – B2

The Cardiology/Short Stay Unit has 25 beds that house both inpatients and outpatients. The inpatient side specializes in patients with structural heart disease, severe aortic/mitral valve stenosis, mitral regurgitation and heart failure. The outpatient side cares for patients who require either a same-day recovery or overnight stay (under 24 hours). Patients from the Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Interventional Radiology, Vascular, Pain Service and Structural Heart arrive on B2 for extended recovery and monitoring.

The nurses on this unit are in the center of cutting-edge medicine. They develop a skill set that allows them to provide post-procedural care for a variety of procedures. Since the unit houses both inpatient and outpatient, the nurses gain a unique experience from working on a mixed unit. Structural heart patients make for an exciting fast-paced day filled with learning opportunities.

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

  • Current Michigan RN license

  • Telemetry experience preferred. Previous inpatient experience preferred

  • BLS certification. ACLS preferred

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
