RAYUS Vascular Care is offering an exciting opportunity for a certified wound care Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Team. We are offering a 0.8 to 1.0 appointment at our St Louis Park and Maplewood, MN outpatient vascular clinics. Led by our radiologist who is extensively trained in the field of minimally invasive, interventional techniques, our team is devoted to providing state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for vascular-related conditions. The Rayus Vascular Care team guides patients through their treatment plan in a comfortable, outpatient setting. We specialize in non-surgical solutions that offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time than traditional open surgeries. In this role you will primarily work at our Maplewood and St Louis Park outpatient centers, with occasional travel to our other Twin Cities metro area centers. Travel will be reimbursed. This role will be required to work 8 hour shifts weekdays between the hours 7:00AM-5:30PM. Primary responsibility will be to provide direct care to patients with vascular related wounds. Secondary responsibilities will include rotating into vascular procedure coverage by providing moderate conscious sedation under the direction of the MD for patients undergoing minimally invasive procedures. Wound Care * In conjunction with the Vascular Care Interventional Radiologist and Nurse Practitioner, RN will provide consultation and hands-on care for wound management. * Performs comprehensive assessments and reassessments to determine the most appropriate and cost-effective use of wound management products and resources. * Provide individualized treatment plans for patients requiring recurring appointments to optimize wound healing. * Hands-on care may include conservative sharp debridement/chemical cauterization with a provider order. * Provides patient education on wound management Patient Care * Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and reduce apprehension * Screens patient prior to procedure for any precautions or contra-indications * Educates patient and family about pre, intra, and post procedure care * Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of patient * Documents patient history and physical assessment for assigned patients * Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care * Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient * Monitors and records patient conditions including vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient * Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents * Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol * Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction Department Support * Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities * Assists in establishing, evaluating and updating patient care standards * Maintains and documents maintenance of patient monitoring, laboratory testing equipment, and procedural medications. Performs other duties as assigned Required: * Registered Nurse with current appropriate state license * Wound Care Certified WOCNCB, NAWCCB, ABWN * Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic Preferred: * Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support certification * Experience in moderate conscious sedation Be a part of something bigger -- join our team in transforming lives through remarkable service.
