The Nurse Recruiter will perform full-cycle recruitment directed toward identifying nurses for Keck Medicine of USC. He/she will be responsible for sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing and referring qualified candidates to respective hiring departments. Targeting the best qualified candidates, this recruiter will develop strategies to attract and retain staff as well as provide support to new hires. The recruiter conducts interviews and makes recommendations regarding the hiring of employees. This person will also coordinate, promote, attend, and participate in recruitment events. He/she will also assist the department and team with special projects as it relates to HR functions. Examples of special projects include but are not limited to participating in OnBoarding of new hires, assisting with coordinating travel for staff and candidates, attending meetings and reporting on current nurse recruitment initiatives, assisting HR department and organization during regulatory surveys conducting research and investigations related to labor related issues/grievances, as well as other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Education: • HS Diploma or GED required. • Bachelor’s degree or may substitute 4 or more years of related experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree required. Minimum Experience/Knowledge: • At least two years of previous recruitment experience required. • Minimum of two years experience working in a healthcare setting or in healthcare recruitment required. • Experience recruiting qualified candidates for clinical staff positions required • Experience recruiting nurses for a hospital or academic medical center strongly preferred. • Communication skills to effectively deal with all levels of supervision, management, and applicants. • Solid organizational skills. • Ability to problem solve and make decisions demonstrating independence and flexibility. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. • Experience with applicant tracking software. Required License/Certification: • Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
