Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the rightteam is invincible.Us.Our Internal Medicine / Medical Oncology unit is a fast-paced and diverseunit caring mostly for acute medical cases to include, but not limited to:sepsis, pulmonary, ETOH and drug withdrawal, diabetes, etc. Ouroncology patients are typically seen by nurses who have their chemocertification, making this an excellent opportunity for Med/Surg RNs tocross train into oncology.We always focus on putting our patients first, which is evident through ourhourly rounding, bedside reports, and manageable nurse-to-patient ratios.We are proud to be a Heart and Neurovascular Center, an accredited ChestPain Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a Level II Trauma Center.Lutheran Medical Center is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofithealthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Assist and support staff inresponding to and problem solving situations related to patient/ familycomplaints, Physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, andHospital safety. Respond to patient emergencies as needed. Respond as the charge or leadperson for disasters. Collaborate with the staffing office and adjust numbers of staff for censuschanges during the shift. Communicate with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing,pending admissions and discharges, any problems she/ he needs to be awareof, and any patient information that will be helpful in making assignments. Support unit management team in managing department productivity/staffingand timekeeping, and coordinating unit activities. Perform evaluations, coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.
